Description
Dear Fiware Lab Staff,
I'm sorry to write again about this problem, but I would like to
understand if the Image development process is changed.
I will try to be more detailed.
I'm trying to create a new Image with inside our sotware and
configuration and I'm following this tutorial:
https://forge.fi-ware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/How_to_create_recipes_for_the_GEs
- "Each GE can be offered as Openstack image, so that, the UC needs just
to deploy this image in the testbed".
In this Wiki, there is the IP 130.206.80.61, and your Staff explained me
that now I have to use the address "cloud.lab.fi-ware.org".
I knew this address and I am working on it, but the problem is that the
Wiki speaks about Chef images like:
-paas-chef-solo
-chef-client-test
but in cloud.lab.fi-ware.org I can't find them.
In my previous email I asked you about the IP 130.206.80.61, because I
thought that it had different services and images.
So, are these images still availables? Is there a new way to use Chef?
Thanks for your patience and time.
Giorgio Federici

[ Hi, Giorgio is not following the right procedure. Of course you are puzzled because you are not ready to answer this. Which makes full sense, this is not FIWARE Lab support, this is Testbed support (something outside the federation and where you, XiFI people, are not involved) The right approach is to tell him that he's using the wrong list : * fiware-lab-help@lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:fiware-lab-help@lists.fi-ware.org> - FIWARE Lab support * fiware-testbed-help@lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:fiware-testbed-help@lists.fi-ware.org> - PPP Testbed Can you please do so? If you are so kind, please also inform him that the case is going to be internally resent to the right team and recommend to carefully use the right list next time to avoid undesirable delays (there are different support teams for each list). I'll assign it to the right people and add a comment. Dear Henar,
I'm working for SpagoBI and we are FIWARE partner.
We are the reference implementation for GE Data Visualization (apps
chapter).
I'm trying to develop a new Image, so people can launch instances of
this Image in FILAB.
I am a bit confused regarding the images development process. Can you
tell me if I'm wrong?
1)Create a cookbook with the recipes (how you explain in the video)
2)Test this cookbook/recipes with chef-solo and then with
chef-client/chef-server
3)Upload this cookbook in the SVN
4)Wait for testbed team response
5)a new Image available on FILAB
In your video course, there are some private Wiki pages on testlab
forge, about the Image creation process. Is it possible to read them?
Kind regards,
Giorgio
